Spaces and Session Types

MozFest is home to all kinds of sessions run by an amazing, diverse, and global community of Facilitators. There are several types of sessions happening at MozFest all across the weekend. You can keep these session types in mind while planning your schedule and thinking about how to meet the needs of participants who prefer to learn and interact in different modes.

This year, our session types include:

  • Art & Media
    • These include art exhibits, films, and podcasts that you can explore at any time.
  • Discussions
    • These are live, synchronous sessions that allow for lots of conversation and engagement.
  • Lightning Talks & Skill Shares
    • These are pre-recorded, asynchronous sessions that you can explore at any time.
  • Social events
    • These are virtual sessions focused on bringing the MozFest community together for communal activities like a fitness or yoga session, baking classes, or games.
  • Workshops
    • These are live, synchronous sessions that allow participants to learn or make something together.

There are also a number of Dialogues & Debates panels, as well as local and partnered events going on throughout MozFest; you can learn more about them from the MozFest schedule.

You can review the Schedule, Arts & Media sessions, Lightning Talks, and Fringe Events to add sessions that interest you to your own personal festival schedule. Community plenaries like the Opening and Closing Circles and our Dialogs & Debates series will be livestreamed on the front page of the Plaza, as well.
